Vivian Jones – Chart Topping Reggae Singer
‘Sugar Love’ Vivian Jones has established a long and fruitful career as a reggae vocalist, having initially been regarded as a lovers rock performer that oozes emotion and feeling with his natural delivery of warm and soulful unique vocal style. ‘Good Morning’ topped the reggae chart and signaled the beginning of a run of hits like ‘Sugar Love’, ‘Love is for Lovers’, ‘Strong Love’ for the singer. His popularity spread from the UK to Jamaica where his reputation continued to prosper.
In 1988 Vivian Jones was acclaimed as the best reggae performer and won the award for four consecutive years. He has recently returned from Jamaica where he performed and topped the bill at the prestigious Dennis Brown Tribute Concert in Kingston.
The Vivian Jones and Mark Webb Band
Vivian Jones is currently collaborating and performing with top UK musicians including ‘The Mark Webb Band’. Mark Webb a local saxophonist who has gone out of his way to form a super group, a 10-piece band of the most accomplished multi talented musicians for miles around. The band features an extra brass section including James Gardiner-Bateman on Alto Sax who recently appeared as a band member on the BBC show The Voice, Gary Alesbrook on Trumpet as featured on albums by Kasabian and Noel Gallagher, Jezz Jackson on Tenor and Alto Saxophones. In addition there is no compromise with this band from the excellent James Mills on Guitar through to the extensive percussion set up of Dom Bell and Mike Newman. The Mark Webb Band also perform some of their own material. This show is a must for people who appreciate LIVE music.
