At last year’s 2015 Glastonbury Festival I thoroughly enjoyed playing an amazing list of 12 key gigs with 5 bands including: The House Of Commoners on the Shangri La ‘House Of Come-Ons’ Stage; Charlie Miller and The Soul Agents at The Green Rooms Bar; Hustle and Flow at the Irish ‘Piano Bar’; Avalon Roots at the Ancient Futures Stage in the Tipi Field; plus The Izness at Green Futures in The Green Fields; and I even managed to find room for a some impromptu jams here and there!

This year the gigs will include playing at Glastonbury Festival 2016 with Charlie Miller and The Soul Agents in the Green Rooms Bar, plus Toad Hall, and not to mention various extra performances to be confirmed. So Many Stages at Glastonbury Festival 2016

There are over 100 stages at Glastonbury Festival 2016! So many stages and so little time to get round to them all. However it is useful to know that some offer last minute gig opportunities for bands to play. Unscheduled gigs appear for various reasons, they may be paid or unpaid but with the smaller gigs like cafes or mini bars you usually get at least a meal and refreshments. These are good fun for any bands looking for more gigs and already on the festival site due to other performances, so this can be a chance to be on stage again and try out a few of the lesser known venues.

It is a pleasure to announce the launch of the long awaited EP from Charlie Miller and the Soul Agents featuring original songs by Charlie Miller and the highly talented Soul Agents, which includes a full sax section. It has taken 5 years!

The EP has been a long time in the making, but good things are worth taking time over, and there’s a lot of people who contribute to what basically are my songs, on production, in the playing, in the arrangements, you know, it’s a big thing it takes a long time for us to get it together and do it, for this one anyway, but there’s plans ahead for us to not take 5 years… Charlie Miller

Live on GFM Glastonbury FM Radio Station

Presenter Ian Liversidge interviewed the band Charlie Miller and the Soul Agents live on GFM Glastonbury FM Radio Station just before the live band’s amazing show to launch the EP at the Bocabar in the Red Brick Building. The Bocabar is Glastonbury’s top live venue and a great place to eat out alongside world class professional music entertainment.

During the wedding season this year I joined a fun and energetic wedding band as part of a super tight saxophone section! One wedding reception in particular took place in a very old Tythe Barn at an atmospheric country house location in Somerset. There were plenty of straw bales, the guests were up for a party, and on this occasion I was playing Baritone Saxophone.

A Wedding Band To Get You Dancing

Enthusiastically gushing all the fun of the party, this professional function wedding band built a great rapport with the audience and ended up with a truly appreciative packed dance floor. We had a house full, or at least barn full, of bopping, gyrating party goers and I am pleased to say we were enthusiastically received by all of the wedding guests as we played hit after hit, keeping everyone’s feet moving and heads bobbing! Musical highlights included popular songs and wedding band party favourites from a range of styles including Rock and Roll, Soul, Funk and Jazz tunes.

Whew this has been quite a busy Summer! I have been spoilt for choice as to which music festival is my favourite. Particular highlights include Glastonbury Festival 2015 of course and I can happily say the band Charlie Miller and The Soul Agents went down a storm! Originating from Glastonbury, this band is made up of a solid bunch of talent. They regularly play in the West Country and beyond.

Godney Gathering Music Festival

In case you have not heard the buzz, another favourite music festival and perhaps one of the best kept secrets, is Godney Gathering, which also happens to be in Somerset near Glastonbury. Godney Gathering has been growing for many years and now holds 5000 people, which seems miniature in comparison to the famous Glastonbury Festival, however this year tickets Sold Out well in advance, so don’t underestimate the quality and variety of bands that play at this very special music festival.

Particular highlights this year included Dr. Meaker on the Main Stage, Fast Decline on the Jaywalk Stage and, fresh from their recent funky floor-filling set at Glastonbury Festival Charlie Miller and The Soul Agents who grooved the night away on the Godney Gathering GFM Stage. This year’s Godney Gathering music festival rounded off with the famous 80s reggae band UB40 playing on the main stage.

Wow! What an awesome party we had at the Cheese and Grain in Frome with DJ Yoda and the House Of Commoners! Let’s Dance turned ONE so we joined in the 1st Birthday celebrations and shook our tush’s in the Grain Bar first. Then we enjoyed a stonking gig with full live hip hop band the House Of Commoners followed by a funky and groovy set from DJ Yoda. Keep your ears and eyes open for more key gigs from these guys. You know you’re gonna have a good night when you have world class musicians and DJs like these to entertain you.

Heading to the Cheese and Grain on Friday 15th May is legendary turntable-ist, pioneer of AV DJ-ing and BBC 6 Music Resident DJ Yoda! World renowned for his series of cut and paste mix tapes, DJ Yoda is bringing his live AV Show to Frome, and you are all invited!
Supporting the superstar DJ Yoda for the night is Glasto 9-piece funked up Hip Hop band House Of Commoners, Fromie crate digger OK? Barry Breaks and Mr Wobble himself, Doctor Hooka.
Lionel Richtea and Bhok will be DJ-ing in the Grain Bar from 8pm to celebrate Let’s Dance’s first birthday. Organiser Andy said, “What a year it’s been, and totally flown by.
